Juvenile Wood Duck on Capitol Lake in PierreThere are a dozen juvenile Wood Ducks swimming on Capitol Lake this summer. There are Wood Ducks living on Capitol Lake year round, including the coldest part of winter. Obviously, one or more pairs were successful in breeding this year. Few things are as cute as baby ducks, but Wood Ducks seem especially cute.
